When you first get into the town, you'll notice a building right in front of you with "Poke" written on it. Here
are some things to check out in this "PokeCenter":
- At any time, you can walk up to the desk with the lady (#1) and talk to her to fully heal your Pokemon for free.
- Also in this PokeCenter, you'll see to the right of the "healing counter" another counter with a man standing in front
of the doorway (#2). This is the Cable Club, where you can trade and battle with friends via a link cable.
- At the far right, you'll see a computer. At this computer, you can store and withdraw items, and later, Pokemon
(#3).
To the Northeast of the PokeCenter is another building, labeled "Mart." This is a PokeMart, where you can
buy and sell items.
You can't do much in here now, except receive the parcel from the store clerk. He will hand the PARCEL to you and
tell you to give it to Professor Oak. However, before you run back down to Pallet Town to give Oak the parrcel, there
are a few other things to check out in this town.
Before you leave the town to deliver Oak's parcel, check out the house in the far north of the town, just east of
the man blocking the road. In here you'll find a town map on the wall that you can look at.
In the house just south of the house described above, you'll find a blackboard with conditions that Pokemon can undergo
during a battle and details on them.
Also in this town, wander a bit to the west to find a small path that goes north. Follow it and you'll come to
a tree. You can't cut the tree yet, but press A while facing it to find a Potion.
If you're looking to train your Pokemon, you can venture west until you run into your rival. This is optional,
though recommended, as you'll be battling your rival throughout the game.

-Lvl 9 ***if you chose Charmander at the beggining, this Pokemon will be Squirtle. If you chose Squirtle, this
Pokemon should be Bulbasaur. If you chose Bulbasaur, this will be Charmander.***
Now there's nothing more to do in Viridian City, except to walk back down to Pallet Town and give the parcel to Professor
Oak. He will give you his Pokedex to complete. Once you exit his lab, go into your rival's house (the house on
the right). Your rival's sister will give you a town map for running Oak an errand.
Now, continue back up to Viridian City and continue north to Route 2.
