When you start the game, you'll be on the top floor of your house. Simply go down the stairs in the top right,
then out the door.
After you go out of your house, you'll wander up north to the "tall grass," labeled #3 on the map to the left.
Professor Oak will stop you and bring you back into his lab (#4).
Next, you'll choose what starter Pokemon you want. On the left is the Pokemon Charmander, in the middle is Squirtle,
and on the right, Bulbasaur. You can view each one before you make your pick.
After you choose your Pokemon, your rival will want to battle with you. It should be an easy fight, and even if
you lose, you can still continue. After you battle, you should walk out the door.
Now you're just about done with Pallet Town, although there are two houses that you should take note of for future use.
The house on the left is your house, which you can go into and talk to your mom to heal your Pokemon. The one on the
right is your rival's house, which you can go into to receive a town map later.
